I’m Franck Dibouës, a clinical psychologist practising since 2003. Based in Singapore, I offer individual psychotherapy and couples therapy in the Central Business District and online.

My work focuses on helping people understand their difficulties, reduce their impact on daily life and develop practical ways forward. You may be looking for support with anxiety, depression, the effects of trauma or the challenges of living abroad.

My training and experience

I hold a DESS in Clinical Psychopathology from Université Paris 8, France — a postgraduate professional qualification in clinical psychology at Master’s level. I completed training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with AFTCC in Paris between 2009 and 2012. I have practised as a clinical psychologist since 2003, initially in France and in Singapore since 2019. I am a Full Member of the Singapore Psychological Society (MSPS).

My clinical practice is supervised by Anne Françoise Chaperon, who has taught for many years at AFTCC (Association Française de Thérapies Cognitives et Comportementales) in Paris.

Alongside my clinical work, I am the Director of Humanitude Singapore, which provides training for healthcare professionals and family caregivers supporting vulnerable people, including people living with dementia. I am also an author of books exploring eating and weight management, and end-of-life experiences.

How I approach therapy

My therapeutic approaches include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), and the Gottman approach for couples therapy. My work combines a careful understanding of your experience with practical therapeutic work. CBT explores the relationships between thoughts, emotions, physical sensations and behaviour. Together, we identify patterns that may be maintaining your difficulties and consider ways to change them.

Therapy is adapted to your needs and circumstances. We agree on meaningful goals and review progress together. Depending on your situation, sessions may involve discussing difficult experiences, practising new skills or planning manageable steps to take between appointments.

Who I work with

I work with adults and adolescents whose difficulties are suitable for a CBT approach. I also offer couples therapy using the Gottman approach. Consultations are available in French and English.

What to expect from your first appointment

The first appointment is an opportunity to explain what brings you to therapy, ask questions and discuss what you hope to change. We explore your current difficulties and relevant background, and consider what support may be appropriate. Where useful, questionnaires can help inform the assessment.

You do not need to arrive with a diagnosis or a perfectly organised account of what is happening. We can work through it together.

Consultations in Singapore and online

In-person consultations take place at 150 Cecil Street, in Singapore’s Central Business District. Online appointments are also available.
